Introduction

We reserved through OpenTable about 3 weeks in advance with ease (there were several empty tables on the night).

Food & Presentation

The food was consistently decent, but nothing really made the meal stand out. The caviar dish was the most memorable. The sake granita was not good. We paid a supplemental fee for a risotto dish, but it was not mindblowing.

I loved the tea pot and cup, but otherwise the dinnerware was pretty standard.

Service

Much like the food, the service was mostly decent, but completely unmemorable.

The mignardises are rolled out on a cart at the end of the meal and we were invited to pick what we wanted out of a very large selection. I made a side comment to the waitress that “I wish I could try them all!” inviting her to say, “Well you can!” but she didn’t take the bait. Unfortunately, not the kind of response I would have expected at a restaurant like this.

Atmosphere & Decor

Very standard fine dining interior. Relatively tasteful, but unremarkable.

Special Features

You get a cup of very thick hot chocolate as a gift on the way out. It’s good, but much too heavy after a long meal, and it’s not like you can save it for later.

In Short…

Given the price and apparent critical acclaim, Quince was disappointingly bland and simply bad value. This one is not worth a re-visit.

Price

$635 for two, including tax and tip (standard tasting menu, two supplements, one non-alcoholic drink and one glass of wine).

The Restaurant had two Michelin stars at the time of visit.
